Wabash, the Saburs, & Easter

It was so nice to see the Saburs over Easter weekend and meet the newest addition to their family, baby Kasper.

Isn't he just the sweetest thing??  

We spent Saturday at the Hamilton's celebrating Luqa's birthday and a huge egg hunt.

 For Easter Sunday, the girls loved getting dolled up in their pretty dresses and spending the afternoon with Grammy and Grandpa Bean.

I'm pretty sure this was Easter (even though it looked like Christmas!)

"I was just hopping like Peter Rabbit"

Audrey had her first broken bone (not surprisingly and probably won't be her first I'm afraid).  She was doing what she does best, hopping.  This kids hops all day long.  Well, she was hoping on a chair while watching the show

Peter Rabbit and landed wrong on her elbow.  Alice was the only witness of course.  Nana knew something was wrong when she wasn't able to do her usual "shake it off."

Turns out she had a small fracture in her elbow.  Luckily, she only need to wear the cast for 2 1/2 weeks (which didn't slow her down a bit).  The best part is listening to her tell her story.

Me:  "Audrey, how did you break your arm?"

Audrey:  "I was just hopping like Peter Rabbit and I went F-L-O-P!"

I was able to get a version of her story on video :)

She's such a great sport!

A Sticky Web

We decided we couldn't miss an opportunity to take Audrey to see the one and only, Spiderman.  She was so excited, she dressed to the occasion.

We checked out all things "Superhero" at the museum.

Made our superhero capes.

and masks.

We waited in line over 30 minutes for the big moment.  Ed Melshen was in Indy for the weekend and met up at the museum to catch up (or he was really wanting to meet Spiderman-- we'll never know:)

So excited.... U-N-T-I-L

It was our turn.  

Oh, this little girl does not have a good track record for characters in costumes :)

A few minutes later Audrey spotted spiderman from a distance and said (ever so cheerily) 

"Oh there's spiderman.  I like spiderman!"

Go figure.

Pettit Park ROCKS!

I've had a lot of opportunities in my new position @ IU Kokomo to network with many people.  Mike Glassburn from Media & Marketing approached me wanting to do a promotional video for the school of education showcasing my class and they work we do @ the local elementary schools.  

I was interviewed, in the middle of the student center! --very awkward! , thought I totally messed up the interview, but it actually turned out great. He spend the morning video recording my class and interviewing the teachers and students at the elementary school, Pettit Park.   

I'm so proud of my students and they progress they are making.  I do miss having my own classroom, especially when I'm working @ the elementary schools with great teachers, but I know my position now is to impact future teachers and hopefully inspire them to become great educators!
