1st Day of Preschool!

 Alice had her 1st day of preschool and boy was she . . . 

 SUPER EXCITED!  
She has been waiting for this day for over a year since her friend Bryce left Carrie's daycare for his preschool class last year.

 

 She was adamant about picking out her outfit, jewelry accessories, and of course her new "twinkle toe" shoes.

 Yesterday, she had her nails painted and was she ever

 READY!

 We packed her backpack the night before with her "show and tell" item.  Alice wanted to bring a princess book because she loves princesses and loves books.  Mrs. Christian told me after class that Alice "read" the book to the whole class during show and tell.  If there's one thing this child isn't it's 

SHY.

 

To make it even sweeter, Norah Stites is in her class. 

Hopefully these two won't get into too much trouble!

 

 When I picked her up, Alice said, "Mommy, I had the best first day of school EVER!"

Audrey is so funny mimicking everything we say.  She loves to call the doggies by name, especially Stelllllaaa!

In Her Sister's Shoes

Audrey is falling right into her sister's shoes.  At her 15 month appointment she was less than .5 lbs under Alice's weight at 15 months (23.2 lbs) and only 1/4 of an inch taller than her sister at the same age (32 1/4 in).

Audrey, however, shows completely different personality tendencies than Alice, but this only pushes her drive to keep up with her sister!  For example, at 15 months, Alice was only beginning to walk.  Audrey nearly runs, climbs, stands on furniture (until we catch her), and even mimics Alice's ballet while watching her in class wanting desperately to join.  Alice is my observant, cautious child, thinking of the consequences before acting. . . Audrey is . . .well, more careless and unguarded, yet loves to brush her hair, steal my cellphone, and constantly finds a purse to carry over her shoulder.   I love their differing personalities and watching them bond as sisters.


Alice is starting preschool next Tuesday!  Video and pictures will be coming out soon!

State Fair Time

 

Usually, I'm MIA for the annual state fair trip due to this hectic time of year with the school year beginning, but with my new job, my schedule has opened WAY up!  Alice LOVED the animals (her favorite being the horses and pigs) and Audrey was mostly terrified of the farmyard friends (giving me the death grip and screaming to get away from the cages).  The animals are a bonus, but we all know why we head to the fair. . . for the overpriced, greasy, deep-fried food.  Elephant ears, corn dogs, fries, ice cream, popcorn, we ate it all! Andy even tried (and liked) his chicken/Eggo waffle sandwich (yuck!!).  Alice rode her first "roller coaster" (hardly can call it that), and went up with Andy on the Ferris wheel.  It was a beautiful day and lots of fun!
